Portsmouth Action Field Gun has adopted a repetitive 2-year cycle of
operation. 2008, for example, will see the staff not only recruiting to
perform their very own “South African Challenge Run”, a 12 man improved and more
technical version of the Royal Navy’s existing Brickwoods Field Gun Run, but to
ensure they have enough new recruits to take part in the running of the full
command crews (over walls & chasms) in 2009. Again, 2010 will see a year
of recruiting and flat runs (as we call them) followed in 2011 by, again, full
command field gun crews.
Needless to say, 2008 being our recruiting and flat run season, will see the
crew available for country shows, fetes, carnivals, displays where you have 100
metres by 30 metres of flat ground available. One crew only will be
available for displays during 2008, as unfortunately between 15th June and 20th
July we will be involved in military shows across South Africa.
Prices for our displays, dependant on distance, duration and number of runs
required, are negotiable so please call or
